Meet the 2026 cohort of the Board Leadership Training Accelerator, preparing leaders for nonprofit board service.

Strong nonprofits are built by people who bring curiosity, care, and conviction to the boardroom. This October, a new cohort of Los Angeles leaders joins Coro California’s Board Leadership Training Accelerator to deepen their governance skills and prepare for meaningful board service. We’re honored to introduce the professionals who will carry this work into mission-driven organizations across the region.

Meet the leaders preparing for nonprofit board service

Anita Allahverdian

SVP; Consumer Banking Market Leader
Bank of America

Anita is a SVP; Consumer Bank Market Leader with Bank of America, overseeing 14 financial centers across the Glendale-Burbank market. With more than 25 years of experience at Bank of America, she is responsible for developing leaders, driving business performance, strengthening client relationships, and supporting the communities her team serves. Anita also serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley, where she is passionate about youth development, financial literacy, education, and community engagement. She has supported numerous community programs and partnerships focused on creating opportunities for young people and families.

Through her participation in Coro’s Board Leadership Training Accelerator, Anita hopes to strengthen her knowledge of nonprofit governance, strategic leadership, fundraising, and board effectiveness so she can bring even greater value and impact to the organizations and communities she serves.

Caitlin Sullivan

Caitlin is a Portfolio Execution Analyst at Capital Group, where she supports wealth management clients through investment trade execution, compliance oversight, and strategic operational initiatives. In her role, she partners across business and technology teams to develop scalable solutions that enhance client outcomes. Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys salsa dancing, distance running, and traveling. She is passionate about community engagement and expanding opportunities for underserved populations through service and leadership.

Through the Board Leadership Training Accelerator, Caitlin hopes to deepen her understanding of nonprofit governance, strengthen her board leadership skills, and prepare to serve organizations working to address poverty, housing instability, food insecurity, and other community challenges.

Cinthya Vodanovich

Cinthya has 20 years of experience in education, building high-performing teams, and leading operations. She began her career as a teacher, climbing the school administrator ladder from assistant HR director to operations director. Each role strengthened her leadership, dedication to my work, and passion for students. Cinthya currently serves as CEO of The Aptus Group, a special education services staffing company she founded in 2008, where she oversees all operations and ensures that the organization continues delivering high-quality services to its clients.

Outside of work, Cynthya is a grateful immigrant, wife, and mother of three who loves salsa dancing and spending time with friends and family. Above all, she enjoys giving back to this country by serving the community through different nonprofit commitments. Through Coro’s program, she hopes to build governance fluency and connect with peers across the Los Angeles nonprofit sector.

Cole Roberson

Product Manager

Cole is a Product Manager at Capital Group Private Client Services (PCS), where he leads initiatives focused on AI product development. Cole partners across business, technology, and operations teams to improve outcomes for associates, financial advisors, and clients through technology. Outside of work, he is passionate about golf, travel, and spending time with his family.

Through Coro, Cole hopes to broaden his leadership perspective, deepen his understanding of civic and community issues, and build lasting relationships with leaders across diverse sectors.

Dan Moran

Vice President / Agile Practice Lead
Capital Group

Dan is Vice President and Agile Practice Lead at Capital Group, where he helps drive organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, and the adoption of agile ways of working across the enterprise. With more than 15 years of experience in project management, program leadership, and Agile transformation, he has held leadership roles at organizations including Boeing, Disney, Twilio/SendGrid, the Auto Club, Slalom, and Myspace.

Dan specializes in enterprise agility, Agile scaling frameworks, leadership development, and the effective use of Atlassian Jira and related tools. He is an active member of Agile SoCal and co-leads the Atlassian Community Events group for Orange County, California.

Dan holds an Executive MBA from Chapman University and numerous professional certifications spanning project management, Agile, Lean, and cloud technologies. He is an avid model railroader and enjoys spending time with his wife and twin daughters. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Pacific Chorale, one of the nation’s premier professional choral organizations.

Dante Noffal

Relationship Manager

Dante is a Relationship Manager with Capital Group Private Client Services. In his capacity as a Relationship Manager, he partners with multiple Wealth Advisors to serve as the primary point of contact for client relationships. He works to prepare many proposals, investment policy statements, and a number of analyses to help support his clients. He is a fun-loving individual whom you can find at any live functions, whether music or sports. He also looks to gain both experience and a network from the Coro program.

Emily Gimenez

Client Service Associate
Capital Group

Emily is a Client Service Associate with Capital Group Private Client Services in Los Angeles, where she supports high-net-worth individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations with investment operations, trust administration, and client service. In her role, she coordinates complex financial requests, helps onboard new clients, and partners closely with relationship managers to deliver thoughtful, personalized support.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and exploring new places, and cooking for those she loves. She values maintaining both physical and mental well-being through activities such as hiking and tennis, and she is passionate about giving back through volunteer work in her community.

Through Coro’s Board Leadership Training Accelerator, Emily hopes to strengthen her leadership and governance skills, gain a deeper understanding of nonprofit board service, and connect with others who are committed to creating meaningful impact in their communities.

Jennifer Vanore, PhD

President & Chief Operating Officer, UniHealth Foundation
UniHealth Foundation

Jennifer is responsible for overseeing the nearly $15 million in annual grantmaking and the day-to-day functions of the foundation. She also works closely with the Board to support innovative new programs and services to improve population and community health outcomes throughout Southern California.

She has served as a Commissioner for the City of Pasadena on their Recreation and Parks Commission and currently is a member of the Board at Southern California Grantmakers. She is also a Senior Fellow and member of the Board of Advisors at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.

Through this program, she hopes to learn the responsibilities and best practices of modern nonprofit board governance, specifically the legal duties of board members, fiscal responsibilities, and fundraising strategies.

Jorvin Avila

Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC)

Raised in Historic South Central Los Angeles, Jorvin has built his career around expanding economic opportunity in the communities he calls home. At the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), Jorvin manages LAEDC’s Board of Governors engagement, supports signature events including the EDDY Awards, Economic Forecast, and 88 Cities Summit, and builds relationships with partners across the region from all industries. A first-generation Latino, he began his career in the nonprofit sector, specifically in community development, and is now an alumni of Public Allies Los Angeles.

Jorvin is currently pursuing a degree in Economics and is passionate about providing direct opportunity for young aspiring professionals in underserved communities. Through Coro’s program, he hopes to sharpen his governance, facilitation, and public speaking skills, connect with civic leaders who share his commitment to Los Angeles County, and prepare to support the nonprofit sector.

Kevin Sanchez Morales

Senior Analyst
Google

Kevin is a distinguished public affairs strategist operating at the intersection of technology, institutional governance, and community impact. As a Senior Analyst in Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google, Kevin spearheads state and local legislative strategies across Southern California, transforming complex policy challenges into meaningful civic initiatives.

Kevin’s career is deeply rooted in public service and strategic advocacy. He previously served as Senior Field Deputy for the Los Angeles City Council and supported members of the California State Assembly, championing vital housing and labor initiatives. His corporate policy experience includes working as a Policy Associate at Airbnb and directing high-impact coalition building within the political consulting sector.

A UC Santa Barbara Political Science alumnus, Kevin is committed to leveraging forward-looking policy frameworks to drive equitable societal progress, ensuring that technological innovation and systemic inclusivity go hand in hand.

Lisa Hansen

Chief of Staff
City of Los Angeles Council District 3

Lisa is Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s Chief of Staff, managing the long-term direction and operations of the office. A dedicated leader serving the West San Fernando Valley, she collaborates regularly with officials and community partners addressing citywide challenges at City Hall including homelessness and sustainability. Serving the City of Los Angeles for many years, she was a member of Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa’s transportation team building support for the expansion of the LA Metro rail network. She was also Deputy Chief of Staff for Councilmember Jack Weiss, where she focused on public safety, such as expediting testing of DNA evidence from sexual assaults.

A native of Minnesota, she graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul. Her goal in the program is to develop nonprofit leadership capabilities to expand her capacity to meaningfully engage in public and civic affairs.

Madeline Bellman

Product Specialist
Capital Group

Maddy is an SMA Product Specialist at Capital Group. In her role, she is responsible for onboarding and expanding sponsor relationships, new product development, and guiding long-term product strategy. Outside of work, she serves as a member of the Yosemite Conservancy’s Audit Committee through her membership in the Conservancy’s Future Leaders Advisory Circle (FLAC), a program designed to prepare young donors for leadership on nonprofit boards.

She enjoys practicing hot yoga, embroidery, and spending bountiful time in nature. She hopes to gain leadership skills in the Board Leadership Training Accelerator program she can bring back to her role at the Conservancy.

Mayra Alcaraz

Investment Content Production Lead
Capital Group

Mayra is an Investment Content Production (ICP) Lead at Capital Group. In this role, she helps drive the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of investment communications that support business partners and client-facing teams. Her work improves processes, stakeholder collaboration, and management of complex deliverables. A former accountant, she brings financial acumen, analytical rigor, and a detail-oriented approach to her work. Mayra leads coordination and production for Multi-Asset investment communications, supporting client review books and related deliverables while improving workflows, stakeholder alignment and service levels.

As Los Angeles site chapter lead for CG Unidos, she fosters cultural awareness, associate connection, and volunteer engagement through community service and inclusive programming. Through the program, Mayra hopes to strengthen her leadership, civic understanding, and collaboration skills to support her work at Capital Group, CG Unidos, and future nonprofit board service.

Richard Gutierrez

Vice President Relationship Manager

Richard is a Vice President and Relationship Manager with Capital Group Private Client Services, where he works with high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts to help manage and preserve wealth across generations. Richard is passionate about financial literacy, ocean conservation, and architecture. He previously served on the board of a nonprofit legal aid organization and is committed to expanding his involvement in community and civic leadership.

Through the program, Richard hopes to strengthen his board leadership and governance skills, gain new perspectives from fellow leaders, and build meaningful relationships that will help him make a greater impact through nonprofit service.

Rizwana Eathally-Jmari

Director of Communications

Rizwana is Director of Communications at an organization where she leads strategic communications, donor engagement, grant writing, and fundraising initiatives supporting adults with developmental disabilities. With more than 15 years of experience spanning communications, marketing, nonprofit leadership, and governance-informed engagement, she is passionate about connecting people, stories, and resources to strengthen communities.

Originally from Mauritius, Rizwana’s leadership is shaped by professional experience in corporate and nonprofit sectors, as well as lived experience as an immigrant, parent, advocate, and community volunteer. She serves with the Hearing Loss Association of America Los Angeles Chapter, AFP Greater San Fernando Valley, DOVIA-LA, and the Ventura County IHSS Advisory Committee.

Through Coro’s Board Leadership Training Accelerator, Rizwana hopes to deepen her board governance expertise, learn alongside diverse civic leaders, and strengthen her ability to serve organizations advancing disability, education, children’s, and environmental causes.

Robyn Wasserman

Senior Program Officer
The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation

Robyn is the Senior Program Officer at The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation. In this role, Robyn leads the Foundation’s food security grantmaking efforts and provides organizational support for the Foundation’s many funding portfolios. Prior to working in philanthropy, Robyn worked for over a decade at nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles and San Diego. With a Master of Public Health, Robyn is passionate about addressing health disparities in the community. She currently serves on the Steering Committee of the LA Food Funders and is hopeful that Los Angeles will continue to make advances toward a more equitable and accessible food system.

Through participating in Coro’s Board Leadership Training Accelerator, Robyn hopes to gain strategic tools and leadership skills to become an effective and engaged board member.

Sandra Aispuro

Vice President, Retail Operations Manager, Retail Banking
City First Bank

Sandra is Vice President and Retail Operations Manager at City First Bank in Los Angeles, where she leads retail operations and advances community-centered banking. As Board Chair of Para Los Niños, she helps guide governance and supports programs serving children and families across Los Angeles.

Through Coro’s Board Leadership Training Accelerator, Sandra hopes to sharpen her leadership, strengthen board engagement, and help implement Para Los Niños’ strategic plan. She aims to build a collaborative, mission-driven board that deepens impact and models meaningful nonprofit leadership.

Nonprofit board training grounded in practice

The Board Leadership Training Accelerator is an intensive program for aspiring and current board members in Greater Los Angeles. Across six sessions held over consecutive weeks in October, participants explore governance frameworks, fiduciary responsibilities, strategic oversight, fundraising and resource development, advocacy, and nonprofit sustainability.

True to Coro’s experiential approach, the program centers active practice over passive listening. Participants learn through case discussions, leadership simulations, peer exchange, and reflection, building the clarity and confidence to contribute from day one, whether they are preparing for a first appointment or elevating their current service.
