This summer, a new cohort of high school students are joining Exploring Leadership, Coro California’s six-week youth leadership summer program in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over six weeks, these students train in critical thinking, goal setting, and group facilitation; gain real-world experience through a professional internship with a local organization; and design and deliver a community project from start to finish. They will finish the program with stronger leadership skills, a deeper understanding of local issues, and a network of mentors behind them.
The long-term impact of a youth leadership summer program
Investing in young leaders pays off long after the summer ends. When students get the chance to lead a real project, navigate a real workplace, and dig into the issues shaping their own communities, they build the confidence and capacity to keep making a difference. Exploring Leadership is tuition-free by design, removing financial barriers so that any motivated Bay Area student can take part. Meet the 2026 cohort carrying that spirit forward.
