Omar leads the design and execution of Coro California’s Fellows Program in Public Affairs and the Exploring Leadership Youth Program. As a Coro Fellows alum himself, he draws on his own experience in the program to create dynamic learning environments that challenge participants across ages, sectors, and areas of expertise.
Before joining Coro, Omar worked across sectors and organizations to incorporate human-centered design approaches to improve community engagement and service delivery, including youth and family advocacy work with Latine communities in Minneapolis, building civic engagement strategies with local governments, and building staff engagement and learning opportunities at nonprofits.
Omar holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s in International Studies and Anthropology from Macalester College. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, exploring new cities, and spending time outdoors.
