Abril leads the design and execution of the Fellows Program in Public Affairs as well as the Youth Climate Fellowship in Los Angeles. A trained scientist, Abril brings years of objective, intentional inquiry; data-driven evaluation; and systems-level analysis experience to her work.
Prior to Coro, Abril served as Associate Director of Programs & Evaluation at Arts for LA, where she helped oversee ACTIVATE, the organization’s signature arts advocacy leadership program; managed key civic engagement events and advocacy campaigns; drove evaluation practices; and developed the Laura Zucker Fellowship for Policy & Research.
Abril holds a B.A. in Biology from Pomona College and studied marine biodiversity and evolutionary genetics as a doctoral student in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at UCLA and at the Indonesian Biodiversity Research Center (now Bionesia) in Denpasar, Bali. She is also an alumna of Coro’s Women in Leadership program.
Outside of work, Abril enjoys getting lost in a good book and exploring LA’s vibrant restaurant and live event scene with friends and family.
