Climate Resilience Leadership Network

Developing stewards of resilience and systems change across Greater Los Angeles

The Climate Resilience Leadership Network activates and strengthens leaders working to build healthier, more climate-resilient communities. This part-time program combines adaptive leadership practices with place-based solutions, enabling you to deepen your understanding of living systems within the Los Angeles Basin. Through immersive hands-on training, you’ll build capacity to foster climate resilience while expanding your leadership skills and professional network. Designed in collaboration with Accelerate Resilience Los Angeles, this program prepares you to navigate complexity and catalyze systemic solutions for a more sustainable future.

Ideal Candidates & Eligibility

  • Work in climate-related fields, including resilience advocacy, climate action, environmental protection and justice, clean energy transition, community development, water solutions, or land conservation.
  • Live, work, or serve communities in Los Angeles County and can commit to traveling to session locations throughout the region.
  • Value cross-sector collaboration and believe addressing climate change requires working productively across varied perspectives, identities, and organizations.
  • Seek leadership growth and are eager to explore innovative approaches for building climate-resilient communities across the region.

Format & Curriculum

Session Cadence

Nearly 70 hours of immersive professional development training from February through June. Sessions include an overnight multi-day opening retreat, monthly leadership forums requiring travel to locations across Los Angeles County, inter-session project work, and a closing symposium. Curriculum Themes

Program content integrates regenerative design principles with climate resilience strategies and time-tested leadership frameworks. Topics include living systems and infrastructure approaches, place-based community engagement, narrative frameworks for inspiring collective action, systems navigation and change leadership, and cross-sector collaboration for whole-systems solutions.

Learning Approach

Coro’s experiential methods center active practice over passive listening. You’ll engage in case discussions, leadership simulations, peer exchanges, and reflective exercises. Facilitators create space for mindfulness, vulnerability, and authentic connection, fostering psychological safety for adaptive collaboration and innovation.

Program Philosophy

Coro’s approach emphasizes three core principles: active leadership practice as lifelong learning, relating productively across differences in identities and perspectives, and embracing curiosity and vulnerability as foundations for authentic leadership and meaningful change.

Cost & Financial Support

Program Fee

The program fee is $375 (subsidized from $9,750 by our generous sponsors).

Need-Based Stipends

Thanks to Accelerate Resilience Los Angeles, need-based stipends are available to offset participation expenses including travel, meals, and materials. Complete relevant questions on the application to be considered.

Employer Assistance

How to Apply

Complete the online application sharing your climate resilience experience, leadership goals, and commitment to building regional solutions. Review the Application Guide for detailed instructions and tips for crafting strong responses. Applications are reviewed holistically with priority for varied perspectives across climate sectors, organizational types, geographic locations, and lived experiences.

Selection Timeline

Applications are reviewed following the application deadline and applicants will be notified within two weeks of the deadline. Program fee payments will be due typically four to six weeks from your decision notification.
